Position: Research
Assistant Professor.
Duties: Will engage in research studies
in the area of cardiology, relating to mechanisms whereby
growth factor receptors interact in the regulation of
cell growth, proliferation and survival, utilizing a variety
of molecular biological and biochemistry techniques, as
well as animal models of vascular and cardiac remodeling.
Research will include biochemical analysis, such as assessing
enzyme activity, assaying amounts of biological substances
such as protein, lipid, and carbohydrate; chromatography
to separate and analyze biological substances, such as
Thin Layer Chromatography and High Performance Liquid
Chromatography. Will prepare scientific grant proposals
and manuscripts.
Requirements:
Ph.D. in Chemistry, Agricultural Chemistry or closely
related field. Expertise in experimental animal handling,
surgical operation on experimental animals, histology;
metabolic analysis on living animals and specimens; tissue
culture; gene cloning and DNA recombination; gene transfer
to cultured cells; protein expression (Western blotting,
Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay); protein and protein
interaction (Immunoprecipitation).
